Procrastinator

I've got writer's block today, and can't seem to sit in silence long enough to think of anything semi important to say. I've got several big events coming up that I should probably be planning for, but instead, I procrastinate! Next week the kindergarten classes at Olivia's school host a "Mom's Coffee Night" for all the moms to get to know each other better. Because I'm on the parent board I'm helping to coordinate the night. It should be a lot of fun! At the end of October is our church fall festival that I've put together the last 3 years, and I'm no where close to being as prepared as I should be. Not to mention I told Olivia we'd do a family costume theme this year of 'Tangled'. She is going to be Rapunzel, Scott will be Flynn Rider, I'm going to be Mother Gothel (great :/ ha ), and Judah is Rapunzel's little chameleon friend Pascal.  I've got to get working on those costumes! On top of all that, Judah's 1st birthday is coming up soon, and we're going to have his party at our house, so I have lots to plan (and bake) for that!


This afternoon Olivia has a dentist appointment. One of the teeth that was damaged from her fall fell out yesterday, so they won't have to pull it. My main concern is any bone damage they may find in the XRay, and how her gum above her front 2 teeth has just eroded away. Again, I know it's superficial, but with a little girl, you have to know how much this will affect the way she sees herself. I know God is in control, and he works all things out for our good!


I guess I should stop avoiding those things and get to it. Hope you all have a wonderful day. Remember Philippians 4:4 "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!"

Surprise Birthday Weekend!

Many of you know that I received the BEST surprise this past Friday on my birthday. My mom and husband worked together for weeks planning a surprise trip to Canada. Not only was I surprised, but Olivia and Judah were surprised too! It was the best 4 days I've had in forever. Here's how it went down. Friday, like any other day, I dropped Olivia off at school, and went out to run some errands. Later that afternoon I took Judah with me to the grocery store, and when I got home Scott was already home. He had a few meetings during the day, so I asked him to come home early, so I wasn't surprised to see his car in the garage. However, when I walked into our house he almost ran into me coming out. Integrity

I'm going to do my best to write this post in love and not condemnation or criticism. I pray that my heart on this issue will be evident and not misunderstood for something else. I heard a great pastor say about a week ago while he was presenting the congregation with an uncomfortable message "receive this in love". I thought, "what a great way to say what you really think and get away with it b/c you've given the 'love' disclaimer!" But seriously, this has been on my heart for about a year now. I don't know if it's been God that's brought it further and further to the front of my mind in the last month or what, but I felt the need to share. So, receive this in love! Integrity. Mommy Porn is No Better than Daddy Porn

I read a fantastic article on the phenomenon of "50 Shades of Gray" and "Magic Mike". I share the same disbelief that women everywhere that claim to follow Christ would indulge in these types of entertainment. There seems to be this sort of movement of women saying, "if men are allowed, so are we!", instead of standing against the very things that breaks the heart of God. Sure, men all over the world have become ensnared in the tangled web of pornography. Do I think that's any more wrong than women being involved in the same thing? No, of course not. I do know though, that because of the incredibly high demand for pornography, young women and even girls are being enslaved to supply that very demand.
